Website notifications allow sites to send you alerts about updates, messages, or promotions. While these notifications can be helpful, too many of them can become distracting. Fortunately, major browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge provide clear settings to manage notification permissions. Additionally, tools like Wise Care 365 make it easy to bulk review and disable unwanted notifications. This guide explains how to manage website notifications in popular browsers including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge.

Manage Notifications Using Wise Care 365

Wise Care 365 provides a centralized way to view and control websites that are allowed to send notifications across multiple browsers. This is the most efficient approach when you want to disable multiple unwanted notification sources at once.

Step 1. Install and Launch Wise Care 365

Download Wise Care 365 from WiseCleaner’s official website.

Step 2. Open the Sites Notifications Tool

Launch Wise Care 365, select Privacy Protector, and choose Sites Notifications from the left panel.

Step 3. Scan and Review Notification-Enabled Sites

Click Scan to detect websites with notification permission.

Step 4. Disable Notifications for Unwanted Sites

Turn off the Action switch for any site you don’t want sending notifications. Wise Care 365 will automatically block its browser notification permission.

Manage Notifications in Google Chrome

Google Chrome allows you to adjust notification permissions through its Privacy and Security settings. You can choose to block all notification requests or change permissions for specific websites.

Step 1. Open Chrome Settings

Open Chrome, click the three-dot menu, and select Settings.

Step 2. Access Notification Settings

1. Navigate to Privacy and security in the left-hand menu, then click on Site Settings.

2. Scroll down and click on Notifications.

Step 3. Manage Website Notifications

Here, you'll see two key sections:

  • Default behavior: This is the main switch. You can choose whether to allow sites to send notifications as needed, and once selected, the site will automatically follow this setting when you visit.
  • Customized behaviors: This list shows every site you've allowed or blocked. In the Allow or Block list, select the menu next to a site and choose Allow, Block, or Remove to adjust its notification settings. To add a site that you always want to block or allow, you can click Add to add them to the Block or Allow list.

Manage Notifications in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge provides similar control, allowing you to disable notification requests or manage permissions individually for each site.

Step 1. Open Edge Settings

Launch Edge, click the three-dot menu, and choose Settings.

Step 2. Manage Website Notifications

1. Go to Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All sites.

2. Select the website for which you want to block notifications, find the Notifications setting, and choose Block from the dropdown menu.

Conclusion

Controlling website notifications improves focus and reduces distractions during daily browsing. Whether adjusting permissions in Chrome and Edge or using Wise Care 365 to manage them across multiple browsers, reviewing and updating your notification settings ensures you only receive alerts from websites you trust and actually need.
